COURSE ENRICHMENT ON FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRICAL DESIGN
‘A Course Enrichment on Fundamental of Electrical Design’ was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering on Thursday, 22nd August 2024. A total of 35 students and 1 faculty member attended the Program.
Shri. Ranjan Kadulkar, BE Electrical from VJTI and having 30+ years of experience in Electrical Design and maintenance was the speaker. He served Petrofac company for 13 years as a Design Engineer. He has handled many projects in foreign countries like Russia, Kuwait and Italy.
Initially, Shri Ranjan explained what a project means and how the project is executed in an industry. LV switchgear and Motors sessions were planned. During the interactive session, students understood the working, specifications, and selection of different switchgear, such as MCB, RCCB, MCCB, and ACB. The understanding of specifications, and different standards like IEC, IS and IP were discussed. The characteristics of switchgear and their selection were demonstrated through simple examples. The concept of letting through energy and, the selection of breakers and cables for a given application were discussed.
In the beginning, Prof. M N Tagare explained the need and importance of fundamental knowledge of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Jayant Mane, the Head, Electrical Engineering Department welcomed Shri Ranjan Kadulkar with a flower bouquet. Prof. M N Tagare was the coordinator of the program. Shri Swapnil Mohite Lab Asst. made all the audio-visual arrangements for the program.
The program ended with a vote of thanks. Many students expressed their satisfaction with the conduction of the event.
