India First Leadership Talk Series –
A Webinar Organized by MHRD’s Innovation Cell
Research and Development Cell, Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri arranged a Webinar India First Leadership Talk Series by Shri. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group. The webinar was organized by AICTE-MHRD’s Innovation Cell to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at the institute level on 8thJanuary 2019.
Mr. Abhay Jere, the Chief Innovation Officer, MHRD, Govt. of India, was in conversation with Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group. He posed several questions on behalf of the students, mainly from Engineering and other disciplines to Shri. Anand Mahindra. He received more than 500 questions from students and Shri Anand Mahindra replied all the questions with utmost sincerity and wit. He clearly explained several concepts for instance how to handle the failures in life and set the career goals? What is collaborative competition, leadership qualities and innovation in a business? Without innovation/new experiments/risks, one cannot flourish and achieve the ambitious business targets. He further added that in India, we use ‘Jugaad’ which means some sort of local transitory arrangement for achieving the purpose and solving the problem, but that is not innovation, rather innovation is ‘Jhakaas’ which means perfectly precise and principal based solution to the problems. So we must move from ‘Jugaad” to Jhakaas.
The webinar was attended by total 62 students of Information Technology and Chemical Engineering Department. Research and Development Cell received the support, guidance and motivation from Dr Kaushal Prasad, Principal, to arrange the webinar successfully. Dr Shashikant S Goilkar, Dean Research and Development and Prof. Yogesh A Landge took efforts to conduct this webinar smoothly.
