A Webinar on Advanced Technologies in Industrial Automation
A Webinar on ‘Advanced Technologies in Industrial Automation’ was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering on 23 September 2021 for SE, TE and BE EXTC students.
The main objective was to enable the students to explore current and future trends including IoT and Digital manufacturing in the manufacturing industry and process automation. Mr Prashant Katikar, Chief Strategy Advisor of Sage Automation India, Mr. Rajesh Jagdale, Managing Director of Sage Automation India and Mr Shreeniwas A. Kulkarni,Center Manager, Sage Automation India were resource persons of the webinar. Sage Automation has its headquarter in Australia and its design and development centre in Pune and Mumbai. Sage Automation is a leader in Industrial Automation & System Integration with clients based worldwide.
The webinar was attended by 73 students of EXTC department. In this webinar, the students explored different projects like complex fuel farm control system upgrade for RAAF, Substation Automation System which brings solar energy to Defense bases, IPL intersection safety, Smart tunnel project to reduce congestion and avoid accidents.
The session was initiated by HOD EXTC, Dr Sharada V. Chougule. Prof. Rashmi R. Kulkarni and Prof. Asmita A. Chavan were event coordinators. Prof. Rashmi Kulkarni proposed a vote of thanks at the end. All the students expressed their vivid interest in attending such webinars in future.
