A Seminar on ‘Cyber Safety’

Internal Complaint Cell (ICC) in association with Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri organized a Seminar on Cyber Safety on 06 October 2025, at 11.30 a.m.

The seminar aimed to:

Raise awareness about cyber safety practices among students and staff.

Educate participants on the appropriate channels for reporting cyber harassment and to promote a safe and supportive workplace environment.

Police Inspector Smita Sutar from the Cyber Police Station, Ratnagiri, was the resource person for the seminar. She enlightened the audience about various cyber safety precautions to be followed in daily digital interactions. Through real-life examples, she explained the different types of cybercrimes prevalent today and provided practical guidance on how to stay protected. She also interacted with the participants and clarified their queries related to cyber safety.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Sharada V. Chougule (Presiding Officer, ICC), introduced the objectives and responsibilities of the Internal Complaint Committee. The guest was felicitated by Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad, who appreciated the efforts of the ICC and the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department for organizing such an awareness-driven seminar.

The event was anchored by Ms. Anushka Ghanekar (T.E. EXTC), and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Vrinda Kulkarni. The seminar received an enthusiastic response, with a total of 119 students participating. The session was highly informative and succeeded in creating greater awareness about the importance of digital safety and responsible online behaviour.
