An Educational Visit was organized by Hope Foundation’s Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri on 6th December, 2018 for HSC (Science) students of Navnirman Junior College, Ratnagiri. Total 46 Students participants visited the academy. The purpose of the visit was to enlighten them on the basic Sciences and their application in Engineering.
During the visit, Prof. Milind S. Yadav (Associate Professor and HoD, MED) delivered a seminar on Engineering as a Career Path after HSC and briefed the students about different branches of Engineering with the job opportunities in each field. Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad also interacted with the students and discussed the need of Engineering in human life with examples.
After interactive session, the students in group of 23 each visited various laboratories from all the departments. The students visited Information Technology department especially the Center of Excellence in IT, Database Lab, Multimedia Lab, and Programming Lab. In Chemical Engineering Department, the students visited Mass Transfer Operations Lab, Instrumentation and Process Control lab, Fluid Flow Lab and Heat Transfer Operations Lab. The morning session ended with the visit to Mechanical Engineering Department and Workshop Facility where the students witnessed Automobile Lab, Kinematic of Machinery Lab, Internal Combustion Engine Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, and Mechatronics Lab. The projects of B.E students were also showcased during the visit. The students also visited Carpentry shop, Welding and Fitting shop and Machining Shop.
In the evening session, the students visited various laboratories from Electrical, Electronics and Electronics and Telecommunication departments where various projects like Remote controlled Robot, Voice controlled Robot, Electronic Dice, Street Light Controller, and Automated Well Unit were demonstrated. The visit ended with feedback session from the student.
