ISHRAE FAMT Student Chapter celebrated the ‘World Environment Day’ on 5th June 2020. The program was conducted on Google Meet, an online platform, due to the current scenario caused by the pandemic. Dr. Milind. S. Kirkire (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department) expressed the views about sustainable development and conservation of energy sources in his inaugural speech.
Mr. Prem Rasik Kolte briefed the participants on the background of World Environment Day, conservation of conventional energy sources and utilization of renewable energy sources. Ms.Vaishali Ramchandra Arekar delivered a presentation on ‘Asbestos and Its Effect on Environment’. A few videos on World Environment Day and Biodiversity were shown to all participants. The program ended up with a thanks note by Mr. Tejas Santosh Tupe (ISHRAE FAMT Chapter President) followed by a digital selfie.
The program was anchored by Mr. Zakwan Mapari. A total of 31 members (students and faculty) participated. Prof. Vidyasheel S. Bagade, Prof.Shodhan U Mayekar (ISHRAE Faculty Advisors), Prof. Hemant V. Chavan (ISHRAE Student Activity Chair, Konkan region) and Dr. Milind. S. Kirkire (Head, Mechanical Engineering Department) guided the students to conduct the event successfully.
