Team 25 Nightmares comprising of 25 students from S.E and T.E Mechanical Engineering of FAMT, Ratnagiri and led by Team Captain Mr. Sairaj Koltharkar secured the 2nd Rank in the National level Student Grand PRIX 2K17 event organized by Seven Motors at Visakhapatnam during 26 – 28 February 2017.
Dr. Kaushal Prasad (Hon. Principal) and Dr. Milind S. Kirkire (Head, Mechanical Engineering Department) provided all necessary support and encouragement during entire course of work.
The All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was completely designed in the CAD laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Department with specified constraints related to wheel track, engine capacity and chassis design etc. under the guidance from Team Mentors viz. Prof. Milind Yadav, Prof. Hemant Chavan and Prof. Dipak Patil of Mechanical Engineering Department.
The fabrication work was carried out at FAMT workshop. All the faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department including workshop faculty members: Prof. A S Yekne (Workshop In-charge), Mr. Rajesh Bhosale, Mr. Rajendar Utekar, Mr. Avinash Lingayat and Mr. Dipak Mestri guided the team as and when needed. Prof. Rushikesh Rasal and Prof. Sagar Sakhalkar supervised the fabrication work of vehicle at the workshop.
The ATV was short-listed during the event based on technical inspection concerned to design criteria, braking test and dynamic test.
Team 25 Nightmares also won the Best Innovation Award amongst 53 teams registered from all over India based on innovative concepts used by Team during design and fabrication of ATV.
