IT Department Held Mandvi Beach Cleaning Drive
As an initiative to sensitize FAMT students about social problems along with technical knowledge, the Information Technology Department organized Mandvi Beach Cleaning Drive in association with the ACM Students Chapter on 22nd October 2023.
The program started with a pledge for cleanliness followed by a cleaning activity. 16 students of the Information Technology Department participated in the beach cleaning drive. The students cleaned garbage on Mandvi beach including plastic bags, wrappers, plastic bottles, etc. They also interacted with visitors and the public requesting to maintain cleanliness and avoid the use of plastic items which was the major source of the waste collected. Removing trash from beaches will not just ensure a beautiful coastline but help maintain a healthy marine ecosystem.
The students from SE, TE classes showed interest and requested to organize such social events every year. The event was initiated by HOD IT, Prof. Dr Vinayak A. Bharadi along with Prof. Ashish B.Vartak as the event coordinator.
