ISR activity of Clean-up Drive at Kajirbhati Beach
Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) activities are carried out to ensure a holistic development of a student through community service. Students from the MCA department are working on various social causes that will make some fruitful changes in society. Kajirbhati beach is just a short drive of around 18 kilometers from the city of Ratnagiri. This beach is situated between Ganpatipule and Ratnagiri. It is a very popular tourist destination. But due to the increased tourist activity, the beach had become very dirty with a lot of waste and garbage.
The Department of MCA, FAMT in association with the Gram panchayat of Nevare-Bhandarpule Village conducted an ISR activity of Clean-up Drive at Kajirbhati Beach on Saturday, 25th November, 2023. Before disposal, the plastic waste was segregated and sent for recycling and the rest of the garbage was collected in the bags that were provided by the Grampanchayat. It was realized that a lot of non-biodegradable wastes and glass bottles were being thrown in the nearby areas as well as the entrance of the beach.
A total of 141 students of FYMCA and SYMCA participated in this drive and cleaned the beach successfully. Prof. T. V. Joshi, the HoD, Prof. H. U. Salvi, Prof. R. V. Kerkar, Prof. W. R. Parulekar, Prof. S. S. Surve and Prof. A. S. Naphade coordinated the cleaning drive successfully
