Induction Program for FYMCA Students
A two-day Induction Program for FYMCA was organized by the Department of Master of Computer Application and Student Association of MCA from 01stSeptember 2023 to 02ndSeptember 2023.
The objective of the induction program was to integrate the new students into the institution and make them understand the systems and procedures followed by the institution. It will help to inculcate in them the culture of the institution, and help them build bonds with other students and the faculty members.
Day 1:
The program was inaugurated by the In-charge Principal and Dean Faculty Dr. Sanjay B. Kulkarni, who also gave a keynote address to the students of First-year MCA. He welcomed all the students and congratulated them for choosing the MCA course to build their careers. He gave a brief history of the institute and told how this institute was founded by Late Shri. P. P. Chhabria with the sole objective of providing quality education at an affordable cost to the students of the remote Konkan belt. He explained in detail about the career opportunities available to the students. He explained that how the institute provides the best infrastructure and facilities for the development of the students.
Mr. Gajanan D. Targaonkar, the Registrar, shared detailed information about the scholarship schemes of government, private as well as offered by the institute along with the procedure to apply, documents required, etc. He also shared that the office is always ready to help the students in completing their work.
Prof. Harshada U. Salvi welcomed the principal, faculty members and students. She gave a brief introduction and the objectives and other details of the induction program to the audience. Prof. Tejas V. Joshi, Head of the MCA Department introduced the Department of MCA to students and explained the syllabus and examination scheme to them. He encouraged the students to attend the lectures regularly and study hard. He also shared about the systems and mechanisms of the department to ensure smooth teaching-learning.
Prof. Pratik Kamble, a Member of the Training and Placement Cell, gave a presentation on Training and placement activities conducted by our college and placement details. He encouraged students to participate in various workshops and industry training programs organized by the T&P Cell to develop their technical and communication skills.
Prof. Minaxi P. Gurav presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, faculty members and students.
Day 2:
On the second day of the induction program, an Online Yoga Session was organized. Prof.Giri S. Kulkarni instructed students to perform yoga and its importance in the daily life of students. He explained how yoga can help to reduce stress, improve concentration, improve posture and strengthen the core.
The Department also organized industry interaction through one of our prominent alumni Mr. Sagar Sahasrabuddhe, Senior Software Engineer at Xoriant Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He gave information about the current trends and job profiles in the software industry. He discussed how to become an iOS developer and gave a demonstration of an iOS application. Students also interacted with him.
Prof. Harshada U. Salvi, Mentorship Committee Departmental Coordinator, in her interaction, explained the benefits of the Mentorship Program. She explained how mentor-mentee healthy interaction motivates the students to study hard and counselling helps the students to solve their academic as well as personal problems.
Prof. Ravindra V. Kerkar shared information about the Student Association of MCA. He shared the history of the Student Association of MCA and various events that were organized.
Creative and Cultural Activities were also conducted during this program. Prof. Harshada U. Salvi did the anchoring of the program.
