A Webinar on Gearing Up-Phase I
Many media agencies have reported that 80% of Engineering Graduates are not employable. Many recruiters have expressed their concern over the lack of various skills in budding Engineers. Given this, A webinar series is planned to educate students of the Electrical Engineering Department on various aspects of Employability. The first talk was organized on Saturday 14th August 2021. FAMT alumnus Shri PareshTeredesai was invited to deliver the talk. A total of 81 students were present for the programalong with faculty members from the department.
Prof. M.N.Tagare welcomed and introduced Shri PareshTeredesai. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 from FAMT and has completed ME from SP College, Andheri. He has also completed MBA in International Business Management. He has professional experience of 20 years and worked in sectors like Engineering services, IT services and product management. He has worked in the capacities like Product Manager, IT Service Center Head, Engineering Manager, R&D Engineer during his career. Presently he is working as a Product Owner at BlueConch Technologies, Pune.
Shri Paresh Teredesai motivated the students with a small video clip advocating to believe in oneself, thinking positively, not giving up at any cost and work hard to be successful. Later, he explained the motive behind the webinar series. He started with knowledge, skills and attitude and their importance in professional life.He explained concepts like employability, observations made during the interviews, competency and rules of H. Further, a clip of interview Shri ShrikantWavre, Director HR, Regal Rexnord explaining three important competencies action-oriented, nimble learning and resilience. Finally, Mr Paresh briefly touched upon an overview of resume writing. Many students and Prof. MangeshModak took part in the discussions during the session.
The students from TE and BE Electrical were invited to the program. Prof. M.N.Tagare and Prof. SudhirWamane coordinated the entire activity. The program ended with a vote of thanks. Alumnus Sandeep Sanjay Kulkarni, TCS designed the web poster for the event.
