A Voters’ Awareness Programme along with Electronic Voting Machine and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail Awareness was conducted at FAMT by the Cultural Cell of FAMT in collaboration with Voters’ Registration Office Ratnagiri; on 23rd January, 2019.
In this programme, the students were made aware about the working of an EVM VVPAT along with the practical experience of the functioning of the machine. The transparency in the functioning of the machine was highlighted by the officers who showed the demo of the machine to the students.
Mr. Umesh Magdum, Additional Treasury Officer, delivered a talk to make the students aware about voting and functioning of EVM VVPAT. Mr. Vinod Nale, Agricultural Assistan and S.t.Pawar, Talathi, demonstrated the machine to the students. Mr. Jadhav, Audit Officer; Mr. Uttam Sasawe, Police Nayak and Prof. D. D. Joshi, Faculty In-charge Student Affairs, were also present for the programme.
The officers even interacted with the students about the functioning of EVM VVPAT and clarified their doubts about double voting, calculation of votes and so on by giving them the practical experience of the same. Many students attended the programme and understood the working of the machine.
