Electrical Engineering Department in association with Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) organized a Digital India Campaign from 11th to 15th February, 2019.
The Government of India introduced BHIM mobile application to initiate fast, secure and reliable cashless payments through Smartphone. The students of S.E. & T.E. Electrical Engineering extended support to this initiative of the government by disseminating information on BHIM application, digital and cashless transactions to the people from nearby residential societies, shopping complexes and villages. The students guided these people on various modes of cashless system like cheque, NEFT/RTGS, Internet banking, mobile/SMS banking and use of BHIM application with presentations and live demonstrations using Smartphone.
Total 57 Electrical Engineering students approached and trained 290 people in cashless transaction using BHIM app. Many of them appreciated the efforts taken by the students. Prof. Sudhir S. Wamane (Department Faculty Coordinator of DLLE), Prof. S. H. Mhabadi (HOD Electrical) and Prof. M. N. Tagare took effort to organize this event.
