First Year Engineering Students’ Association (FESA) organized a Guest Lecture on Coast Guard and Career Opportunities on Tuesday, 29 January, 2019. Mr. Jagsharan Gautam & Mr. Satyapal Singh, Officers at Indian Coast Guard, Ratnagiri, conducted the lecture.
Prof D. S. Nangare, Teacher In-charge of FESA introduced the objectives of the program and welcomed the guest speakers. Mr. Jagsharan Gautam briefed the students about Indian Coast Guard with short informative videos summarizing different roles, duties and contributions of Coast Guard in the national coastal security and peace missions of India. Mr. Satyapal Singh gave additional information to encourage the students to join Indian Coast guard. He briefed them about the recruitment procedure and required qualification. Further, he informed the students about various benefits and facilities provided to Indian Coast Guards.
A gathering of around 110 members including the students and faculty attended the programme. Dr. S.B. Kulkarni, Prof. Naiknaware, and Prof. Manik Gujar helped to coordinate the session successfully. Prof. Darshana Bapat, Prof. Nargis Gangrekar and Prof. Suvarna Abhyankar were present at the program. The program was appreciated by the faculty and the students.
