A Career Guidance Session on “Steps to Become a Competent Engineer” was conducted on 13th March 2025 in lT Seminar Hall, by Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Principal, FAMT Ratnagiri.
The seminar aimed to guide second-year Electrical students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and professionalism required to excel in the engineering field. Besides technical expertise, the students were advised to improve soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership, as employers seek engineers who can collaborate and convey ideas effectively. Students were informed about the importance of various value-added courses and industry exposure, along with the necessity of strong technical knowledge. Several online learning platforms were explored so that students could learn about different emerging fields and expand their expertise. Students were introduced to educational platforms such as Coursera, AWS Academy, Infosys Springboard etc. to enhance their domain expertise and gain exposure to the latest technologies.
The session was concluded by encouraging students to remain dedicated, curious, and proactive in their learning journey. 60 students from the second year of the Electrical Engineering department actively participated in the event and gained valuable insights. The session was effectively coordinated by Prof. Sudhir Wamane, Training and Placement Coordinator, and Prof. Sudip Halder. The session was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from the attendees.
