Brainwaves 2025 – Robo Race Championship 2025
The Robo Race Championship was successfully conducted as part of the Brainwaves 2025 Technical Festival at FAMT Campus on the 20th and 21st of February 2025. The event featured an exciting competition between line-following and obstacle-avoidance robots, attracting participants from all departments of FAMT and Gogate Jogalekar College, Ratnagiri.
A total of 19 teams i.e. 95 students participated, demonstrating their technical expertise and problem-solving skills. The championship was judged by Prof. Vrishali Nimbalkar and Prof. Amol Sutar, ensuring a fair evaluation of all competing teams. The event was coordinated by Madhav Sawant, with Sujay Khedekar and Isha Katake serving as Tech Secretaries. The faculty coordinators for Brainwaves were Prof. Nikhil Kasar and Prof. Sprooha Athalye, who provided valuable guidance and support throughout the event.
The competition was structured in multiple rounds to test the efficiency and adaptability of the robots. The first round focused on line-following, evaluating the robots’ ability to navigate a predefined track. The second round and semi-finals incorporated both line-following and obstacle avoidance, adding a layer of complexity to the challenge. These rounds were conducted on 20th February 2025. The grand final took place on 21st February 2025 in EN 0/5, where the top teams competed for the championship title.
