A Seminar on Power Scenario in India

A seminar on ‘Power Scenario in India’ was organized by the department of Electrical Engineering on Monday, 17th September 2017. The students from TE and SE Electrical were present for the program. Shri. Santosh R Patani, Dy. Executive Engineer, MSEDCL, Pune was the chief speaker. Shri. Hrishikesh Karambelkar, Asst. Engineer, MSEDCL also graced the occasion. Prof. M. N. Tagare expressed the motive of the seminar and introduced the guests. Prof. S. H. Mhabadi  offered bouquet to welcome the guests.

Shri. Patani has an experience of 14 years in the field of power distribution and has won many awards – ‘Star Performer of Year 2015-16, ‘Promising Engineer Award, and ‘Best Action Plan for Loss Reduction’. He explained the power scenario in India, Power System Structure, Load Curve and its effect on Indian economy. He further added the information related to tariff for LT and HT consumers. He appealed the students to take up projects related to feeder energy audit or safety audit which will be useful not only to the MSEDCL to give better service to society but also help students to learn practical aspects. Finally, he demonstrated the use of ‘Mahavitaran App’ and clarified queries of the students. Prof. M. N. Tagare organized this event.
