RATNADURGA Fort Cleanup Drive 2018-19

The Electrical Engineering Department organized Ratnadurg Fort Cleanup Drive in association with Jiddi Mountaineering, Ratnagiri on 27th January, 2019. This fort was constructed during the rule of Bahamanee and was captured by Adilshah. Later, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (Founder of Maratha Empire) took the charge of the fort in the year 1670.

The Government of India has launched a campaign ‘Swachha Bharat Mission’ from 2nd October, 2014 with an objective to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of cities, smaller towns and rural areas. In addition, it is necessary to clean and conserve the forts which are the historical monuments and the cultural heritage of India. The restoration of forts is important for conservation of history and tourism. Keeping this noble motive in mind, the department of Electrical Engineering decided to work for the dilapidated state of the heritage forts in Ratnagiri city and contribute in the conservation of the historical places.

46 students along with 03 Faculty members of Electrical Engineering Department participated in the fort cleaning drive. The plastic bags, glass bottles, used dishes were disposed with the help of Ratnagiri Municipal Corporation. Mr. Sujan Padave and Ms. Sanjyoti Katalkar and Mr. Rakesh Hardikar, Member of Jiddi Mountaineering and many people appreciated the efforts taken by the FAMT students. Master Yash Patil, Master Mallikarjun Swami and Master Sandeep Kulkarni, student representatives took efforts to make this event successful. Prof. S. H. Mhabadi (HOD Electrical), Prof. M. N. Tagare, Prof. S. S. Wamane, Prof. V. A. Sansare, and Prof. K. M. Keshyagol coordinated the campaign successfully.
